History of the Ugg

Uggs have been around since at least World War I, when aviators wore them due to their great insulation. In Australia, Uggs have also been worn by sheep shearers for many decades. Surfers have also been keen Ugg-wearers since the 60s in Australia, and the Ugg influence was exported to California in the late 70s. There has been great controversy over the years over the use of the term "Ugg". Deckers Outdoor Corporation claimed it and other related terms as a trademark, but they later lost this trademark in Australia. They still hold the trademark for the USA.

Uggs saw a resurgence in popularity in 2003, and since then have been a firm favourite of celebrities and the fashion conscious. Along with Decker's "Original UGG Australia" boots, there are a wide variety of other sheepskin boots available for sale in the UK. Why not browse some of the top cheap ugg boots?
